At the end of 70's and during 80's, tourists from all over the world came and shared the apartments with our grandparents, staying long periods in San Gimignano; a town that was not so famous as now. The friendly and warm approach of our grandparents towards visitors always impressed us. They gave their guests the chance to experience San Gimignano, its culture and history.
In 1999 I was a student at the university and, together with my brother Igor and my parents, we decided to restore the building belonged to my grandparents and to again rent rooms to tourists, offering them the opportunity to again experience in the heart of the historical centre of San Gimignano.
The name La Mezzana Rossa arose from the typical Tuscan red stone of the roofs in Tuscany.
Today La Mezzana Rossa is a large XIV Century building located in Sant?Agostino Square, one of the most quiet places in San Gimignano.
La Mezzana Rossa can offer multiple solution, rooms and apartments, within the same building. After the initial restoration works in 1999 another opportunity occurred in 2008 allowing us to enhance historical details such as a fresco in the living room.
Staying with us at La Mezzana Rossa will be an unique experience in which you can discover the delights of the town, the countryside, the history and treasures of San Gimignano.
Our philosophy is to give a great value to hospitality, to a friendly and helpful approach with our guests, to let them experience San Gimignano more like a resident than merely tourist.

Double Room L'Affresco
 | The double room is unique tanks to its original furniture and the view on the countryside, which gives it a romantic atmosphere. It has a private bathroom with shower and all its windows look at the countryside. In the bedroom can sleep two people and it has Tv sat.
It has typical first XX Century Tuscan furniture.
The basement are in original Tuscan terracotta and the ceiling are with the beams showing.

Apartment Le Torri
The apartment is located in a section of the bigger apartment La Mezzana Rossa. It is composed by a double bedroom ( Le Travi) with Sat Tv, a private bathroom with shower and a private equipped kitchen. The bright and wide bedroom enjoy a unique view on the towers.
In the apartment can sleep 2 plus one person sleeping in an added extra bed.
Furniture are essential, original to enhance the structure of the bedroom and the kitchen. The basement are in original Tuscan terracotta and the ceiling are with the beams showing.

Apartment La Mezzana Rossa
This is a wide apartment, located in the heart of San Gimignano, at the second floor of a XIV Century building. The relevant characteristics of this apartments are the wide spaces, the brightness and the privileged position from where it will be possible for our guests to enjoy the unique views on the towers and on the countryside.
In the living room was discovered an original religious fresco dated back to the XIV Century.
Also a chimney, a loft are part of the furniture. Its windows look at Sant’Agostino square and the one in the two bedrooms look at the countryside and the towers.
La Mezzana Rossa is composed by the dining room, two double bedrooms (L’Affresco, Le Travi) furnished with Sat Tv, two bathrooms with shower and a well equipped kitchen.
In this apartment can sleep 4 people, and one person more can sleep in extra bed in the largest bedroom.

1. To make the reservation our guests are requested to let us know the chosen room or apartment, the number of people, the day of arrival.
2. If you cancel the reservation we cannot give you back the deposit.
3. We kindly please to respect the time arrival ( except previous communication or particular requests). If you don?t do we must consider the reservation canceled and we cannot give you back the deposit.
Payment:
The reservation will be detailed with the price of one night or, in case you stay only one night, a 50% deposit at the reservation to make through postal order, bank transfer or credit card. Using this ladder you have to inform us about all your data by e mail or fax. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, CartaSì, Bancoposta, Jcb card. You can pay the rest of your reservation on sight, by credit card or cash.
