Situated on a hilltop that allows a 360° panoramic view including the famous towers of San Gimignano, the Fortezza, after a long and thorough restauration, became an enchanting and unique residence exceeding 6,000 square feet. The floors and ceilings in antique handmade tiles, the beams in chestnut, the arched ceilings and the fine fireplaces, anything suggests the idea that here time has been stopped. The residence has a refined and exclusive atmosphere that still maintains the warmth of family-style management and the owners, who live in the property nearby, are available for any request or query. The spacious building only offers 6 bedrooms, 5 double rooms and a suite. Its maximum capacity is of 12 people. The bedrooms enjoy the wonderful wiew. |

Owners decided to let the bedrooms maintain their original purpose of rest, tranquillity and well-being. It is in fact possible to chat or to watch SAT tv in the comfortable sitting-room, while the cozy study allows internet connections. Besides The Fortezza's wide kitchen offers a taste of the past with all the comforts of modern times, and the dining room and the living room with the ancient fireplace where you will be able to live again the fascination of the hospitality of bygone times. The spacious villa only offers 6 bedrooms; 5 double rooms (Fina, Smeralda, Preziosa, Sigerio, Belviso) and a suite (Cortesiana). Its maximum capacity is of 12 people. The limited number of guests allows to provide personalized and continous attention to any of their needs. The bedrooms are all provided with air conditioning, safe and mosquito net, each one has private bathroom with a wall-attached hairdryer and shower or bath-tub.
The luxury villa residence can be rented weekly as a whole and in order to accommodate any of its clients needs, Fortezza de' Cortesi has also arranged many additional services. The Fortezza offers to its guests, only on request, the opportunity to stay in its exclusive rooms with the B&B formula. In this case, they will find a rich buffet breakfast; hand made cakes, local selected cold cuts and typical Tuscan cheeses. In each room guests will also find an electric kettle and a selection of teas and coffee. The Fortezza can also host a number of gatherings and special events. Its unique location makes it the perfect setting for an elegant and unique wedding experience.

'Suite Cortesiana' (2 pax)
The suite Cortesiana, of 65 mq, enjoys the privacy of the entire second floor of the tower and looks upon the enchanting view of the surrounding “colline toscane” (Tuscan hills), and it includes a beautiful living room with a fireplace, a spacious bedroom with a magnificent canopy bed and a very particular bathroom with a Devon bath-tub and shower stall.

Guided trip to San Gimignano, Siena, Pienza, Montalcino,Montepulciano, Chianti Classico with informative preperatory lectures at the villa beforehand (min 8 people).
Various art-related activities (min 8 people): Medieval or Renaissance tecnique workshop; Conversations or readings of italian art, mostly regional, accompanied by period music; Thematic lessons on the main periods of art history from the Middle Ages to the present;
A choice between lessons in: art and cinema / art and poetry / art in the four seasons / regional
Tuscan art history with the possibility of concentrating on the region or a single city;
An evening of art and games.
Please note: for the period from April to October inclusive we accept rooms reservation only starting from 30th day before check in.
Minimum stay: High season 2 nights, low season 3 nights.

Coming from North
Highway Firenze-Siena, exit Poggibonsi Nord. Then follow indications San Gimignano. After about 8 km you will find the second crossroad indicating Colle Val d'Elsa. You have to continue always towards San Gimignano and 30 meters more turn left to a gravel road, where you will find signal "Monti" and “Fortezza de Cortesi". Follow other signals, up to our parking area, not more than 1.5 km from the cross.
Coming from South
