Medieval Fountains

Turning right at the Tabernacle in Via delle Romite, you can reach Porta delle Fonti, opening on the countryside and leading to the public fountains, where people used to draw water and wash their clothes; it was also used by the wool and leather traders.
This building dates back to the fourteenth century, with gothic lancet arches built on the first Lombard stone fountain (ninth century).
