Piazza Sant’Agostino

Climbing Via delle Romite you will get to the area Sant’Agostino. The square, now paved with typical red bricks, used to be a large green area.
The Romanesque-gothic Church of Sant’Agostino is annexed to the Convento with an International Community of Augustinian Friars. The church houses very important works including an altar by Benedetto da Maiano and a cycle of frescos with scenes of the life of Saint Augustine by Benozzo Gozzoli.
